About Paola

Paola Ruiz

hello everyone!! My name is Paola (she/her) and I am from Pico Rivera, CA (near East LA ish). I am a junior majoring in English (literature track) and minoring in psychology. I was LSP VIII and am beyond thrilled to come back as a preceptor and welcoming you all to our LSP Family!! Within English, I am interested in contemporary Latinx literature, narrative theory, and contemporary poetry (some recent fav reads are The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy and Postcolonial Love Poem by Natalie Diaz). Outside of academics, I am involved in educational equity efforts, working with a nonprofit from my hometown called LEARN LA, and was also an EdP (Education Partnership) Fellow last summer here at Stanford. I love the color green, oat-milk, matcha lattes, thrifting, dancing folklorico, going on walks, and curating oddly specific Spotify playlists (and using parentheses). I am so so excited to meet you all very soon!! (✿˘◡˘✿)
