About Emily

Hi everyone! My name is Emily (she/her) and I’m a rising junior studying Public Policy with a minor in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity. I was born in a small, rural town in North Carolina but I would love to travel and see the world more (hence why I moved across the country to Stanford!). My dad was born in Mexico and I’ve only been able to visit once so I hope to plan a trip after college. I’m very passionate about social justice, human rights, and learning about policy as it pertains to underserved, communities of color. I was a part of LSP IX during the 2020-2021 school year and although my experience was virtual, LSP had a great influence on my experience at Stanford thus far and introduced me to the FLI community on campus. I also currently work at the FLI Office and am a part of FLIP (the student-run FLI Partnership on campus). Aside from being a part of these community orgs, I love eating sushi and seafood, listening to music, spending time with friends and family, drinking boba, and starting random crafty projects that I never finish! I’m so excited to meet this year’s cohort of students and get to share this wonderful experience together!
