Meet some of our new LSP students

Haein Shim

I chose to keep my Korean name when I immigrated because I know my ancestors fought against Japanese colonization to preserve it. My name, which I take the most pride in, was created by the women in my family, and it carries a deep and personal significance for me.

Hometown: Gwangju, South Korea. 

Academic Interests: Sociology, Communications, and Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
